1. NATURAL OCCURRENCES OF THRIPS ENEMIES (PREDATORS AND PARASITOIDS) FROM SELECTED REGIONS OF WESTERN UTTAR PRADESH

ABSTRACT: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the natural occurrences of thrips enemies in western Uttar Pardesh . Surveys have been made for the study of T. tabaci and S. dorsalis on onion and chilli with regard to tritrophic interaction between plants, pests and their natural enemies. Two predator species viz., Amblyseius cucumeris and Orius tantillus and two parasitoids i.e., Ceranisus menes and Megaphragma mymaripenne were collected during survey.

2. SOCIO-ECONOMIC STATUS OF THE PULSE GROWER IN BANDA DISTRICT (UP.)

ABSTRACT: The study on "Socio economic status of Pulse Growers”. Was undertaken in six village of Banda District of Uttar Pradesh state with sample size of 60 respondents were randomly selected. The distribution analysis pertaining to age of pulse growers indicated that 51.33% respondents belonged to middle age group. It was majority of respondent 45% were No education (illiterate) while 80% of them belong to OBS category. The 55% farmers had middle land holding.51.67% farmers had nuclear type of family. Majority of the respondents 58.33% had social participation. The farmers 48.33% were engaged in agriculture their main occupation, the farmers 50% found high farm power possession group. Majority of respondents 45% farmers used the canal as the source of irrigation.

3. CENOECOLOGICAL ASSESSMENT OF MEDICAGO CAERULEA IN SHIRVAN REGIONOF AZERBAIJAN

ABSTRACT: Medicago L. species were studied and 10 populatioscovering of East part of the Great Caucasus were selected in Shirvan region of Azerbaijan. M.caerulea species in these populations spread in gray-meadov, mountain - brown soils out of under the forest and takir like. As a result of research carried out in 10 cenopopulationin different phytocenological complexes has been knownthat the M.caeruleaspecies is typical for all cenopopulations (play-meadow, forest, steppe, desert), does not demand fertile soil at the same time. The annual maintenance reserve of M.caeruleain phytocenologicalcomplex of Shirvanis mostly the Kura-Araz lowland area and Pirgulu massive inShamakhidistrict. The results can be concluded that the supply and use of natural resources such as forage crop can be carried out continuously.

4. MEAT YIELD CHARACTERISTICS OF DIFFERENT PARTS OF BROILER STRAINS IN SUMMER SEASON

ABSTRACT: A total of 405 (135+135+135) day-old broiler chicks were collected from the purchasing outlets of two (02) breeding hatcheries in Bangladesh. The chicks were placed in an open shed house and were exposed in summer seasons. Chicks as hatched broilers belonging to 3 strains, 45 of each strain were reared in three summer seasons having 135 to each summer seasons with 3 replications 15 chicks per pen. They were fed ad-libitum up to 28 days to make a comparison on their production performances. The feather weight, feather weight percentage, shank weight, viscera (with content) weight, viscera weight percentage were significant (P<0.05)(Table 24). Neck weight was highly significant (P<0.001) and neck weight percentage was also significant (P<0.01) among them.In breast weight percentage, thigh weight, thigh weight percentage, drumstick weight percentage, wing weight and dressing weight percentage of three different broiler strains was significant (P<0.05). According to dressing percentages Cobb-500 performed the best result in summer season than Hubbard Classic and Arbor Acres.

ABSTRACT: The country has about 20 thousand hectares under protected agricultura of which approximately12,000 are greenhouse, the main crop grown under greenhouse is tomato with75% of the surface, followed by pepper with 12 %and cucumber with 10%. In Mexico the technology used in greenhouses, is diverse and it is also a copy from that others countries, which has led to technical failures preventing to achieve a higher productivity. As the aim of this paper review the status of the automation in Mexican greenhouses and perspectives for the future. In Mexico the growth of greenhouse productionis growing.This makes thecountryan importer of technology greenhouses, so we musttake advantage of that situation to develop anational technology globally competitive, and it is not in graduate and postgraduate thesis work .Should form alliances between entre preneurs of greenhouses and educational institutions to create such nationaltechnologyand over timethiswill notonlyprovidedomestic producersbutexport as it does the Netherlands mainly.

6. ENHANCING NUTRITIONAL QUALITY OF CORN EXTRUDED SNACK BY INCORPORATING MOTHBEAN (Vignaaconitifolia) AND GARDEN CRESS SEEDS (Lepidiumsativum)

ABSTRACT: The corn extruded snacks were supplemented with moth bean and garden cress in order to enhance the nutritional quality of the snacks. The garden cress (GC) was added to different extruded snacks at the level of 2.5, 5%, 7.5% and 10% level while, moth bean (MB) was added at the level of 20 % to the corn flour.The developed snacks were acceptable till 7.5% level of garden cress incorporation. The organoleptically acceptable snacks were analysed for nutritional evaluation. All the developed extruded snacks incorporating MB and GC were high in protein ranging from 15.08 to 16.9g/100g in comparison to the corn extruded snack (9.1 g). The iron and calcium content of the snacks ranged between 18.4 to 21.3 mg/100g and 54.6 to 57.3mg/100g DM respectively, which were significantly (p ≤ 0.05) higher than the control. The essential amino acids like methionine and cystine content of the snacks was significantly higher than control, it ranged from 105.3 to 109.5 mg/100g DM and 102.3 to 109.2mg/ 100gDM, whereas their content in corn extruded snack (control) was 84.6 and 99.2mg/100gDM. The lysine content of MB and GC snacks was significantly (p ≤ 0.05) higher than the corn extruded snacks. The antinutrients like oxalate and phytate content were low ranging from 1.3 to 2.1 mg/100g and 128 to 144 mg/100g respectively. The developed snacks had high protein, iron, iron bioavailabilty, invitro carbohydrate and protein digestibility.

7. Value Added Surmi Based Seafood from India: An Overview

ABSTRACT: Surimi is a Japanese term for mechanically deboned fish flesh that has been washed with water and mixed with cryoprotectants for good frozen shelf life. Surimi-based pastes are often used in forming seafood analogs, because of this gel-forming capacity, which also means that it can be molded or formed into virtually any desired shape.Thus, the naturally occurring forms and textures of many types of seafood products can be duplicated, particularly those of shell fish. Other additives in addition to salt can be incorporated into the paste, and these often include flavorings derived from or reminiscent of the seafood variety to be duplicated. Value addition has been considered as the thrust area. Indian seafood processing units will be encouraged to go in for value addition and export through setting up new units, expanding their capacity and diversifying their current activities etc for value addition during the coming years.
